A survivor of a terrorist attack, he is a passionate advocate for disability inclusion and a firm believer that life can remain meaningful and purposeful after injury sustained in the line of duty. He is deeply committed to supporting injured service members and the families of those who make the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.
A distinguished and highly accomplished officer, Mr. Mutua is a recipient of the Silver Star of Kenya (SS), recognizing his exemplary service and dedication. He holds a Master's Degree in Governance and Ethics from Mount Kenya University, A degree in Supplies Management, and a Diploma in Counselling Psychology.
With more than 20 years of operational experience in the National Police Service, Mr. Mutua has risen through the ranks to a supervisory role. Throughout his career, he has gained firsthand insight into the physical, emotional, and social impact of injuries and line-of-duty deaths on officers and their families, shaping his commitment to officer welfare and resilience.

Victor Kiplagat serves as the Treasurer of Beyond Duty Foundation, bringing a wealth of experience in security management, humanitarian response, public safety, and organizational leadership. A dedicated officer in the Administration Police Service of Kenya, Victor has over 17 years of distinguished service, during which he has held diverse roles in general policing, VIP protection, intelligence analysis, protocol security, digital communications, and strategic security management.
Victor is a disciplined and results-driven professional with a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, and service excellence. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional expertise in operational planning, intelligence analysis, cybersecurity awareness, emergency response, and humanitarian support. His extensive professional development includes specialized training from prestigious institutions such as the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre, the ICT Authority, the U.S. Embassy Antiterrorism Assistance (ATA) Program, St. John Ambulance Kenya, and the Kenya Red Cross Society.

James Pamba serves as the Secretary of the Beyond Duty Foundation, bringing over 18 years of distinguished experience in security management, strategic leadership, and high-level operational coordination. He is a seasoned security and operations professional recognized for his expertise in planning and executing complex security operations, leading elite teams, and delivering advanced protective solutions across diverse environments.
James possesses an impressive academic background, holding a Master's qualification in Security Management, a Degree in Leadership and Management, and Diplomas in Forensic Studies, Business Administration, and Pharmaceutical Technology. His multidisciplinary education reflects a unique combination of security expertise, investigative skills, organizational leadership, and administrative excellence.

Ruth Mutegi is a Board Member of the Beyond Duty Foundation and a highly accomplished Communications and Public Relations specialist with over 13 years of progressive experience in strategic communication, media relations, public affairs, and digital content production. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication Studies (Development Communication), a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Public Relations, and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism. Her strong academic foundation, coupled with extensive professional experience, has equipped her with exceptional expertise in delivering high-impact communication solutions in dynamic and demanding environments. She is widely recognized for her professionalism, creativity, and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in developing compelling communication strategies that deliver measurable results.

With over 12 years of professional experience in marketing, brand management, client relationship management, events management, and public relations, Festus brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and project execution. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed high-impact initiatives, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, built lasting partnerships, and delivered programs that create meaningful value for organizations and communities alike.
Prior to joining Beyond Duty Foundation, Festus held key roles with leading organizations including Safaricom PLC, East African Breweries Limited (EABL), Kenya Airports Authority, Extra-Dimensions (K) Ltd, and Staarab Lounges Ltd. These roles equipped him with extensive experience in program coordination, corporate social responsibility initiatives, communications, customer engagement, and operational leadership.
Festus holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from Kenyatta University and a Practitioners Diploma in Marketing, complemented by professional training in Events Management.
